The Chair opened the hearing on HB2666. Natalie Scott provided an overview of the bill. (Attachment 1)
Ed Klumpp testified as a proponent on behalf of the Kansas Sheriffs Association, the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police and the Kansas Peace Officers Association. Mr. Klumpp said these organizations requested this bill to address an issue - vehicle pursuits are dangerous for all involved. He walked through the statute and explained the application of it. (Attachment 2)
