The Chairman opened the hearing and called upon Jason Long for a revisor overview of the bill.

The Chairman called for testimony on the bill.

Proponent Senator Elaine Bowers called for the committee to support this request to authorize a permanent memorial commemorating the Kansas suffragist movement. Sen. Bowers indicated that the concept originated with the Capital Preservation Committee and explained that the bill establishes an account to collect and account for private contributions.

Proponent Cille King spoke on behalf of Marlene Merrill, League of Women Voters explained that the details of where and what the memorial might be developed.
