Chairperson Warren opened the hearing on SB419.

Jason Thompson, Senior Assistant Revisor, provided an overview of SB419 and stood for questions. (Attachment 2)

Randy Bowman testified in support of SB419 stating the goal of this bill is to get the Kansas Department of Corrections (KDOC) enforcement, apprehensions, and investigation special agents, who work alongside community law enforcement, the same level of training and qualifications. (Attachment 3)

Ed Klumpp testified in support of SB419 stating law enforcement work alongside the KDOC officers and the same training is important to the safety of the officers, the public, and the people being apprehended. (Attachment 4)
