Short Title

Standardizing firearms safety programs in school districts.

Jason Long, Office of Revisor of Statutes, gave an overview of the bill.  HB2304 is identical to SB116 which was heard in Committee, and passed on the Senate floor.  If a school wishes to provide gun safety education, they must establish curriculum guidelines for a standardized program based on the Eddie Eagle Gunsafe program for younger grades, and the Hunter Education in Our Schools Program for students in grades 9 through 12. (Attachment 20)

Following questions for the revisor, the Chairman called for proponent testimony.
